School Choir
Choir of the Year Competition
We returned to St Francis to defend our Choir of the Year title with a medley of 'The Sky Is A Neighbourhood' (Foo Fighters) and 'Rollerghoster' (Alan Simmons). We were also asked to perform a Champion's number during the judging process, which was 'Hallelujah' (Panic! at the Disco). The children behaved beautifully and performed perfectly, and we were absolutely delighted to be awarded the 'Students' Choice' Trophy. Well done to everyone involved!
ASFA Choir of the Year Competition
Our school choir was invited to participate in the ‘Choir of the Year’ competition at St Francis of Assisi on Wednesday 28th June 2017. The competition was organised by the Academy as an opportunity for Primary Schools to come together and showcase their school choir. Each school sang their chosen song or medley in front of the other choirs, the ASFA choir ‘Vocalise’, two judges, as well as parents.
Our chosen competition song was one of the children’s favourites, ‘How far I’ll Go’ from the film Moana. The children were absolutely fantastic! They sang their hearts out and performed with such professionalism. Their timing, dynamics, tuning and movements were spot on and it really showed all their hard work.
We are delighted to announce that Lister Choir was chosen as the overall winner by the judges and was awarded the title of ASFA PRIMARY CHOIR OF THE YEAR 2017!
Congratulations to all choir members, we are very proud of you!
